CHSE Student Textbook Return

Students– all textbooks must be returned by you to the teacher that issued the book (page 18, of student handbook & page 15 of the Parent Guide). Again, you MUST RETURN YOUR TEXTBOOKS TO THE TEACHER THAT ISSUED THE BOOK TO YOU! 

CHS Tennis Team Tryouts

Tennis tryouts are being held through Thursday from 4:00 to 5:30 at Laurel Park across from the West Campus.

Yearbook Purchase / Pickup

Thursday will be the last day to purchase or pick up a yearbook at the West Campus.

CHS Class of 2012 Baccalaureate Service

Baccalaureate service for Conway High School class of 2012 will be held at the James H. Clark Auditorium on Wednesday, May 16th at 6:30 p.m. 
Please join us as we celebrate our seniors’ accomplishments with featured guest speaker and former CHS graduate Mr. Monte Henderson.

Student Mailing Address Updates

Students:  You MUST have your correct mailing address in our computer system!!! With the transition taking place in the fall you will be receiving instructions through the mail regarding scheduling/registration.  Please see Mrs. Foster in the Counseling Center no later than Friday, May 18th if you need to update your address.

CHS Volleyball Tryouts

High school volleyball tryouts for grades 10-12 will be held May 21st through 24th.

Drivers Test Procedures

Students, ALL requested driver test forms will expire May 23, 2012. Semester ends and grades will have to be recalculated to get your current grade point average (GPA). If you plan on taking your driver test during the summer months you will need to call Mrs. Sorenson at 450-4860 after June 15th to request your form.

ACT Prep Course at UCA & FREE Opportunity to take the ACT

Attention tenth grade students: UCA will be offering a FREE ACT Prep Course during the month of June 2012. Classes will begin on Monday June 4th and end Friday, June 28th with morning (8:30 to 12:30) and afternoon (12:30 to 5:30) sessions. Students who complete the course may also take the ACT for FREE. For more information, please see Mrs. Sorenson in the Counseling Center.

Summer Driver's Ed Registration

Registration for summer Driver’s Ed is now under way. Slots are filling fast - there are now 36 slots available and will be filled on a first come, first serve basis.  Cost will be $250.00 (cash or money order only) to be paid at time of registration.  Class will begin on June 4, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. and will be held in the auditorium at Conway High School East.  Students must be 14 years old before Monday, June 4, 2012 and have a valid Arkansas Learner’s permit.  For an application and registration information see Mrs. Sorenson in the Counseling Center. Click here for more information.

Student Schedule Verification Sheets for 2012-2013

Students if you have not turned in your signed schedule verification sheet, please do so ASAP!!! 

SIP Tutoring

Anyone who is in an extra-curricular activity that involves competition MUST have a 2.0 grade point average (GPA) from the fall semester OR attend 100 minutes of tutoring in SIP on Wednesday afternoons from 4:30 to 6:10 p.m. to be eligible to compete. If you do not have a 2.0 GPA, contact your coach or sponsor. SIP will begin Wednesday, January 18thin the CHSW Media Center.

There will be an Edline Update on Friday, May 19th.

CHS Students Rank in Arkansas' Top 10 in National French Contest

Congratulations to the following students who placed in the TOP 10 ranking in Arkansas for the National French Contest for 2012: Level 1 – Arely Loya, Matisse Monty, Ryan Murray, Jane Zhuang, Mary Jones, & Jessie Shambarger; Level 2 – Tori Craun & Nestor Moguel; Level 3 – Zach Orvin. In addition, Miss Arely Loya was one of only six Arkansas students to place on the National level? Please help us congratulate these students for their achievement!

Conway High School East Sophomore Female Ensemble ranked "Best in Class"

The Conway High School East Sophomore Female Ensemble, under the direction of Mr. Sam Huskey, earned the "7A Best in Class - Medium Sized Female Ensemble" at the State Choral Performance Assessment earlier this month. The "Best in Class" ranking is the same as saying "State Champions." This is the first "Best in Class" ranking that the Conway Choral program has ever earned.

Conway High School EAST Program Awarded Superior Rating at 2012 EAST Conference

Mrs. Riley is very pleased to announce that the Conway High School EAST Program was awarded a rating of Superior at EAST Conference this year!  In addition, several students received awards for their competition entries.  Spencer McPeake (12th grade) placed 2nd in the Google Sketchup Competition and received a two-year license of Google SketchUp Pro, along with a Google flash drive, water bottle, and a certificate.  The following five students were finalist in the Music Competition:  David Hubbard, Aaron Potter, Carlos Antunez, and Jessica Hollis (all 9th grade), Marcello Hoskins (10thgrade), and Jordan Cost
(12th grade).  The Music Competition finalists’ music clips were played during the Opening Plenary and the Formal Banquet at the conference.  When you see these and any other EAST Program students, please congratulate them on their achievements!

Conway Swim Teams Make a Big Splash in 2012

Congratulations to the girls swim team for being District Champs and State Runner-Up, our boys are District Runner-up. Both swim teams had a great year.

Special Olympics Bowling Team Continues the Wampus Cat Winning Tradition

Congratulations to our Special Olympics Bowling Team.  Our girls won 1st place, the boys double won 1st place, followed by the boys single winning 1st place and the girls winning 2nd.
